September 2020 Update

· Monthly Updates

Monthly Blog

While those of you in the northern hemisphere transitioned to Autumn, we in the southern hemisphere have transitioned to Spring. We have heard of some locations where the wildflower blooms during this time are absolutely breathtaking. This bloom lasts for a few weeks. If one procrastinates too much, one might miss seeing it. The above photo was taken in Postberg located in West Coast National Park. Perhaps we will make it to one these beautiful locations one Spring.

What chaotic and exciting times we live in! Things in the natural realm look and sound chaotic, but for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear excitement is stirring. A third Great Awakening is on the horizon! Throughout Scripture the devil had a habit of attempting to thwart God’s plan. We often think that he does not know when God is about to do something. Revelation 12:4 tells us that the dragon was waiting to devour the child when the woman gave birth. The devil is fully aware that God is about to birth something in this hour, and he is doing whatever he can to stop it. What will likely happen, however, is that his efforts to stop God’s plan will actually play into God’s plan. Keep your eyes fixed on Him and stay in confident expectation. God keeps His promises!

Update

*Due to poor internet connection among other things, we will not be doing a video update this month.

During the month of September South Africa saw its lockdown restrictions reduced to level 1. The international border re-opened as of October 1, with 57 countries on the prohibition list. This means that people cannot travel from those countries to South Africa. The United States is one of those countries. Most industries are now open but must still adhere to strict requirements. More churches have re-opened, although they are limited to 50% of capacity with a maximum of 250 people. Some churches are adhering to all the legal requirements, while others are choosing which requirements they want to follow.

As for us, we continue to meet with a group outdoors. We pray, worship, fellowship, and encourage one another. Until recently, we were the youngest people in the group. Many people in the group are in their sixties, seventies, and even eighties. They are classified as being in the high-risk category for covid. But these older individuals have chosen to not accept that classification and have joined the Sunday morning gathering since June. They have truly been a testimony of faith over fear! We have enjoyed gathering with these mothers and fathers in the faith and look forward to seeing what God will do as we move forward!

As you know, one of our major assignments while in Muizenberg is to prayer walk the area. One of the common prayers we declare is for vacant businesses to be occupied by Christian business owners who have the vision to use their businesses to advance God’s Kingdom in the area. A business owner with that mindset recently setup shop in the area. Praise God for that! Little by little, we are seeing God’s hand move on our behalf to answer our prayers!

Another testimony that we would like to share occurred during one of our prayer walks. We were focusing our attention on stopping in front of and praying for local churches and ministries. One ministry, called The Dignity Campaign, goes into local schools, and teaches young girls and women about the true dignity that they can find in Jesus Christ. They had just returned to the office that week when we stopped by. They opened their doors to us, and we were able to pray for the leaders and prophecy over them. They were greatly encouraged!

Prayer Points

  1. US elections
  2. That the Christian churches and ministries in Cape Town would come together as a single unit to win the area for Jesus!
  3. Psalm 91
  4. Whatever Holy Spirit lays on your heart
